Home lighting studio.  Image from Pixabay Beginning students are continuing to study lighting and today's Power Point is all about lighting INSTRUMENTS and what they do and how to use them. While advanced students should already know this information, it might help to review it for your next assignment, see below. Beginning students are to go through this Power Point and read the additional article about lighting video at night.  Then, the exercise is this: Create your own cookie!  (cuculoris)  Take a piece of construction paper, cardstock, or cardboard and cut different shapes in it.  Then, get a flashlight, put the cookie in front of the flashlight to create a light pattern on your subject and create a short scene.  If you want to use your family or friends in this scene, that's fine or even a pet or stuffed animal as your subject that would be fine.  All you need is one scene.  Perhaps it's late at night and your subject is feeling s...

We've learned about audio and now we are going to switch to the next module and learn about LIGHTING.  It is a real important facet of TV production and film making, and really even photography.  There is a real art to knowing how to light your subjects for a camera. Let's learn the first concept in understanding and recognizing this complex production value. Please go through this Power Point on Lighting Coherence/Quality and do the quiz below the Power Point to turn in to me via my email:  Lisa.watson@cobbk12.org.  Or, you can submit via Google Docs, but just make sure you turn link sharing on and that you get a "shareable link" to send to me. I Need Your Help...please

Image
Hi everyone.    I need help with a project and it would be great if ALL of you could participate. I want a video from you, and all you have to do is read a script on camera.  It's very simple. The script is below. I am planning to make a "we are strong" video to post on the Hillgrove website AND...I want to also submit it to local media, who are looking for locally-produced content.  But, I need your help! Here's how to do it: Place yourself in front of a non-distracting background (a blank wall, perhaps) and center yourself in the shot as a close up ; from just below the shoulders up.  Lighting and audio has to be PERFECT. Read each line on camera (with your eyes looking directly at the lens and not at the paper) and read slowly and seriously.  I want each line to have big impact.  Read like it is the most important information you've ever presented. If you need to look down at the paper to memorize each line befo...

Hello everyone!

Here is a message from Mrs. Stewart and another one from me.  Please read both all the way through. From Mrs. Stewart to Parents and Students: Students and Parents, This notification is to inform you of the latest information released by the county regarding your child’s grade.  As noted from the district communication, students have a choice to accept their grades as of March 13, 2020 as final grades for the 2019-2020 school year OR Continue to earn grades for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year to improve their grade(s).  We want to clarify that if a student chooses not to participate, perform or actively engage with his/her teacher(s) and they do not take advantage of assignment opportunities, this will result in their final grade being the grade that they had on March 13 th .  The only way for the March 13 th grade to improve is for the student to submit assignments and participate in the digital learning opportunities made available to him/h...
