Assignment #4

Image
Photo by  Ankush Minda  on  Unsplash As we start another week of online learning, please remember to keep up with the work and the deadlines.  If it helps you, I'm going to make this next assignment due Friday, April 3, and that will give you plenty of time to complete it. Beginning students (2nd and 4th block):   Keep up with your notes, study guides for the test on cameras, framing, hand signals, etc. as we keep learning new concepts.  This time, audio. 1.  Please go through this Power Point on Audio Loudness vs. Frequency.  There is a narration of my voice that goes with it, so as you watch it (and TAKE NOTES), pay attention to the things I say that may not be on the PPt. that are concepts and definitions that you need to know. 2.  Also, you will need to complete this quiz on audio and turn it in via Google Docs or Office 365.  If you have questions about how to do this, please ask.  (I'm not sure why my documents look like this) Audio Qu

You Can Get Premiere Pro at Home!!!

You have access to Premiere Pro from home if you log into the Cloud.    In a previous post, I put a video up to show you how to log in. Adobe has granted licenses to all CCSD users with an Office 365 account during our distance learning time.  In order for teachers and staff to access the Adobe Creative Cloud products at home, please visit this Adobe page: https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/kb/edu-install-CCapps-covid19.html Mrs. Watson

How To Turn in Assignments and Why It Is Important to Keep Up with Work

Image
By far the best way to turn assignments in to me is to share them with me from your Google Drive (using Google Docs, etc.). HOWEVER, if you do that, be sure to turn link sharing on and be sure to send to me a "shareable link".  Otherwise, I have to ask you for permission to view your video/document and that's a hassle for you and for me.  It adds an extra step. If I can't see your video, I've sent you a note saying that and I need you to turn sharing on and grant me permission.  If it's a worksheet, share it with me on Google Docs or scan it and email it to me as an attachment.  I will grade it and give you that grade.  For beginning students, you have a worksheet that is due by Friday, March 27th.  Please keep up. EVERYONE....It is incredibly important that you keep up with your work that we, as teachers, assign.  For me and my students, as you know, there is no way to work in groups right now, that means that I have to grade 120 individual video

This first video is why the Rule of Thirds is so important. Rule of thirds explained This second video explains seven basic composition rules about video. Seven Composition Rules This last video, and the reason for the above picture, is about how to make your B roll professional. Amateur vs. Professional B Roll Demonstrated Keep working on your projects everyone (Assignment #3) and I'm going to keep posting. Also, I was thinking, would you be interested if I scheduled a Zoom meeting with your class so we could spend a few minutes catching up with each other?  I would like to do that.  If you would like to touch base with each other in that way, let me know by email.  Lisa.watson@cobbk12.org.  I will send y

Next Assignment - #3 - Advanced and beginning

If you have not already turned in your video assignment, please do so.   If you have, here is your next assignment. Photo by  Marek Szturc  on  Unsplash For Advanced students (1st and 3rd blocks) I want you to produce a video commercial .  It could be for an existing product or for one you create.  It must be about something that would be very valuable to someone who is in isolation (like we all are), or it could be about school (now that you know what an important piece of academic and social life you are missing). It must not be longer than 30 seconds and you will need to create a graphic for the end on how to buy this product.  You can be funny or serious.  This is not a PSA, so don't get confused. Here are some tips for your commercial:   https://smallbiztrends.com/2017/10/creating-an-effective-tv-commercial.html And another one:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkGlEJcWfHo This is Due to me by Sunday the 29th.  Upload to your Google Drive and share the link wi

Another update....good news!

Hi everyone! I have two bits of information that you need to know. First of all, for my level III and IV students, the Georgia Department of Education has suspended requirements for the End of Pathway Exam.  There is no way to give the test so you won't be taking the test this year. Second, and this is for all  my students:  Adobe has agreed to make available the Adobe Creative Cloud suite for all teachers and students while they are home.  Yay!  As long as you have a phone or computer, you can edit.  For my beginning students, since I have not taught you how to edit, Premiere Pro may be too complicated, but please try.  I can send you information on how to set up your computer and import/export video. In order to access the Creative Cloud apps, go to this site:   https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/kb/edu-install-CCapps-covid19.html Note from IT professional:  It is important to emphasize that the students and teachers use their district Office 365 account wh
