Stay Well!

At the same time that we are getting excited about spring break, prom, and the end of the year, we are inundated with news about school closings, and event cancellations due to Coronavirus. While not to be taken lightly - it is a dangerous virus - there is really no need to panic at this point. You can, however, take definitive steps to guard against getting sick; and these are precautions that you should take all the time. -- Wash your hands. Before you eat, after you eat, after you go the the restroom, after you touch your hair, after you touch money or a doorknob, a stair rail, elevator buttons, credit card machine buttons, etc. Wash your hands thoroughly for two minutes. Wash between your fingers and your fingertips. Wash like a surgeon. -- Use a paper towel to dry your hands and use it to turn off the water and to open the door and turn off the light, being careful not to touch the part of the towel that touched the door knob. -- Do not touch any part of your body above your neck. If you have an itch, use a tissue or the inside of your shirt. -- Never cough, yawn, or sneeze into the air or into your hands. Water droplets can travel up to ten feet. A sneeze can exit your body with the force of 100 miles per hour. Imagine how that propels water droplets! If you expel into your hand, then anything that you touch with that hand will get contaminated with your germs. Use a tissue to cough, yawn, or sneeze into or the inside of your elbow. -- Try to open doors with your sleeve or a tissue. Some doors even have foot pulls that allow you to open them without contaminating your hands. Stay healthy and keep others around you healthy. Just some friendly tips from Mrs. Watson.
